BRADENTON, FL — A 34-year-old man was arrested Sunday and charged with attempted murder after stabbing a 15-year-old boy multiple times at a Bradenton home, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.
Quazone Taylor was booked into Manatee County Jail.
Taylor was visiting the home in the 600 block of 33rd Avenue Drive East on Tuesday afternoon when the stabbing happened, the sheriff's office said.
Deputies responding to the home just before 3 p.m. found the teen suffering from multiple stab wounds to his neck and upper body.
The boy was brought to a regional hospital with serious injuries that weren't expected to be life-threatening, the sheriff's office said.
Detectives said Taylor was sitting outside with the teen when he attacked the boy for an unknown reason. The suspect then fled the area
Deputies, including members of the MCSO SWAT and Drone teams, searched the home and the surrounding area for Taylor immediately after the stabbing.
Investigators believed he might have been hiding in the attic, but he wasn't found on the property.
He was at large for about five days before his arrest.
