Man Charged With Murder In Bradenton Death, Manatee Sheriff Says (patch.com) — Bradenton residents are being urged to share any tips after deputies found a woman dead outside a location on 14th Street West late Thursday night and arrested 64-year-old Rodney Booth on a murder charge. Manatee County Sheriff's Office detectives say there were clear signs of homicidal violence, though the victim has not yet been publicly identified.

With help from Bradenton-based Synergy Lighting and new grant funds, they're pushing property owners to switch to turtle-friendly fixtures and urging residents to report stray hatchlings via a 24-hour hotline.
   

5. Do you know them? Unidentified duo leaves dirty, wounded dogs at Manatee animal shelter (snntv.com) — Manatee County Animal Welfare in Bradenton is asking for your help identifying two people who dropped off dirty, wounded dogs outside the shelter late Tuesday night and left them caged on the sidewalk. Staff found the animals the next morning and are now caring for them, and the agency is urging anyone who recognizes the people, dogs, or vehicle to contact them.
