Man Arrested in Bradenton Double Homicide, Police Say (patch.com) — Bradenton residents are learning more about a deadly Sept. 22 shooting after police arrested 34-year-old Jakourtney Johnson on two counts of second-degree murder in the deaths of Antonio Rosario and Willie Stubbs Jr. Officers say the men, who knew each other, were involved in a dispute that escalated into a fight on 12th Avenue East before shots were fired. Detectives are still seeking additional information from the public as the Bradenton investigation continues.
   

2. Dengue Cases Climbing in Florida: What Manatee and Sarasota Residents Need to Know – WENG 98.1FM, 107.5 FM & 1530 AM (wengradio.com) — Helicopters are now spraying roughly 30,000 acres over urban Bradenton and Palmetto every two weeks as Manatee County Mosquito Control works to keep dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases from reaching local neighborhoods. With statewide dengue cases climbing and Hillsborough County leading the state, Bradenton residents are urged to dump standing water, use repellent, and stay especially cautious if commuting into higher-risk areas.

HCSO: Riverview Facebook Marketplace seller robbed at gunpoint; shots fired, no injuries (cw34.com) — Manatee County deputies recently found one of the Riverview robbery suspects hiding in a Bradenton attic with a gun believed used in the crime, tying this case directly to your community. The Facebook Marketplace deal turned armed robbery happened in Riverview last year, and three young men now face multiple charges after shots were fired at, but did not injure, the seller.
