Lakewood Ranch Y Hosts "The Sicilian" Interactive Dinner

The Lakewood Ranch Y is hosting “The Sicilian,”
its second annual interactive dinner fundraiser for scholarships. The dinner is held at The Polo Grill/Fete Catering on Saturday, May 4 from 6 to 10 pm. The theme is Tuscan inspired cuisine hosted by Chef/Proprietor Tommy Klauber.

Guests take turns cooking dishes at their tables. To add to the fun and laughter, comedian Tim Wilkins “assists” Tommy and keeps people entertained.

“This is a great event. We had a terrific time last year,
and the board unanimously and enthusiastically decided to do it again this year and keep the tickets at just $100 each,” said Lakewood Ranch Y Advisory Board Chair Dr. Brian Ratzel.

The theme is “The Sicilian Kiss, An Evening of Black and
White.” Guests are encouraged to dress in black and white. It is a “festive casual” look. “One of the things people like the most about this event is that they don’t have to wear formal attire,” explains former Board Chair Ron Masseo. “My guests all felt it was the most fun they’d had at a fund-raising dinner!”

The evening begins with a cocktail hour with a silent
auction and the Kentucky Derby on monitors in the room. Following this, guests will find their tables where they will each have an apron and need to decide who will cook each dish. Tommy gives instructions and explanation—sort of a
play-by-play as they prepare each course. Tim Wilkins provides the ‘color commentary’ to keep everyone amused.

There will be a live auction with fabulous vacation packages and other highly desirable items. Tickets are $100 each and include dinner, bar and entertainment. For tickets and information, contact Stacey McKee at smckee@manateeymca.org or 941-782-0220 ext 106.

All proceeds go to the Lakewood Ranch Y Scholarship Campaign. At the Y, no child, family or adult is turned away because they cannot pay.
