Anna Maria Oyster Bar Honors Local Teachers with Dinner Celebrations
More than 150 Area Elementary and Middle School Staff and Faculty Members Attend
Bradenton, Florida – December 23, 2014 – Anna Maria Oyster Bar (AMOB) – a locally owned, multi-award-winning restaurant with three area locations – hosted the faculties and staff members of three local schools at its Ellenton, Cortez and Bradenton Landside locations for its annual Teachers Dinner celebration on Monday, December 8, 2014. “We were thrilled to have great night to give a well-deserved thanks to the hardworking teachers, principals, and custodial and lunchroom staffs of our local schools,” said John Horne, owner of Anna Maria Oyster Bar. “This is our way of celebrating the very people who help shape the lives of children of our community.”
This marks the twelfth consecutive year of the Teachers Dinner for Anna Maria Oyster Bar, in which 31 elementary and middle schools in total have been treated to the restaurant’s award-winning menu. The schools participating in this year’s dinner included: Florine J. Abel Elementary School, which was hosted at the AMOB Landside location; Sea Breeze Elementary School, at the AMOB Cortez location; and Electa Lee Magnet Middle School, at the AMOB Ellenton location.
In addition to the gifts, door prizes and dinner provided for the teachers and staff, Anna Maria Oyster Bar selected one family from each school for its Adopt-A-Family program. Families chosen for the Adopt-A-Family program are represented on Christmas trees at all three AMOB locations with paper ornaments listing items of gifts, clothing or necessities. Guests who take an ornament off the Christmas tree, purchase the gift written on it and return the gift to AMOB by December 20 receive a free appetizer of onion straws. AMOB will wrap and deliver the gifts along with food for each adopted family for Christmas. “Our Adopt-A-Family program helps make the holiday season a little brighter for local families in need,” said Horne. “We appreciate all who choose to participate by purchasing a gift and donating to the cause.”
