Arrest Made in Parking Lot Shooting
No injures were reported in the incident that occurred in Bradenton on Friday.

A 30-year-old man faces criminal charges after Manatee County Sheriff’s deputies say he fired at an occupied Jeep on Friday morning as it was leaving Labor Ready in Bradenton.
According to the agency, the incident happened around 7:49 a.m. at 1408 57th Ave. E. Amanda Frye, 25, was in the process of backing her Jeep out of the crowded parking lot when a man started to yell at her. That man, a sheriff’s office report stated, then pulled out a handgun and fired three rounds at the vehicle.
While no one was injured, a search for the suspect was kicked off.

An arrest in the case was announced Wednesday morning. Gelasius K. Averette now faces shooting into an occupied vehicle charges. He was being booked into the Manatee County Jail Wednesday morning.
