Bad News For Bradenton’s Beer Scene: 1 Brewery Closing, 1 Faces Foreclosure

One Bradenton brewery announced its closure, while another is facing a $1.9 million foreclosure lawsuit, reports said.

BRADENTON, FL — There’s bad news for Bradenton beer lovers, as one brewery announced its closure and another is facing foreclosure and eviction.

The owners of 3 Keys Brewing & Gastrobrew, 2505 Manatee Ave. E., announced in a social media post on Tuesday “with heavy hearts” that the brewery will permanently close at the end of the month.

“Like so many small businesses, the continued slowdown in the economy has made it no longer possible for us to keep going. It is not the ending we envisioned, but we are at peace knowing we gave it everything we had and that you were with us every step of the way,” the owners wrote.

Over the next several days, regulars are encouraged to use their rewards points and mug club members are asked to pick up their mugs.

Meanwhile, Motorworks Brewing, 1014 9th Street W., faces eviction in a $1.9 million foreclosure case, the Bradenton Herald reported.

Seacoast National Bank, the plaintiff, filed the foreclosure lawsuit on May 21 across four loans borrowed by Motorworks Brewing LLC and Princess T LLC. The bank is seeking repayment of the loan’s principal, interest and late fees, and also asked the court for a deficiency judgment and an order to sell the property and evict the brewery, the Herald said.

Motorworks Brewing also appears to have closed its downtown Orlando tasting room after being served a five-day eviction notice, Orlando Shine reported. A notice posted to the door by the landlord demanded nearly $13,000 in unpaid rent.
