Bad Weather Forecast Cancels Events In Sarasota, Bradenton Areas

Much of Florida will see heavy rains, possible flooding and strong winds this weekend, canceling a number of events.

SARASOTA-BRADENTON, FL — With strong storms moving into Florida this weekend, bringing with them heavy rains, possible flooding and gusty winds, a number of holiday events and other happenings have been canceled.

  • Bradenton Market: The weekly market in downtown Bradenton is canceled Saturday.
  • Bradenton Police Fill the Truck Toy Drive: Saturday’s toy drive will be drive-thru only. Donations will be collected under the covered entrance to the Bradenton Municipal Auditorium from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enter from 10th Street and volunteers will collect donations.
  • Party on the Plaza: CoolToday Park has canceled Saturday’s concert featuring the Majesty of Rock. All purchased tickets will be refunded at the original point of purchase.
  • North Port Parks & Rec: The North Port Aquatic Center, Atwater Splash Pad and Warm Mineral Springs will be closed on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Rock Painting: This event hosted by Sarasota Rocks at Creative Liberties has been canceled.
  • Seven Years Past Concert: This Saturday night show at Big Top Brewing Company has been postponed. A new date will be announced.
  • Wreaths Across America Day: The Wreaths Across America ceremony planned for Saturday at the Sarasota National Cemetery has been canceled. The escort and wreath laying has been postponed with no future date provided yet.
