Arts & Eats Restaurant and Gallery plans approved

Arts & Eats Restaurant and Gallery opening this summer in the Village of the Arts. We've been approved!

Arts & Eats Restaurant and Gallery is an exciting new dining spot soon to open in the Village of the Arts in Bradenton.  It's owned by Jim Copening and Donna Slawsky who moved to Bradenton a year ago to pursue their passion to live creative lives, contributing to a community.

I'm Donna and will be blogging about the progress while we renovate our 1925 bungalow at 1114 12th Street West in the Village. Jim and I got the great news yesterday that our architectural plans have been approved by the state of Florida. We can now begin remodeling the house, hoping to open sometime this summer.

Jim is an amazing chef and is passionate about people "feeling the love" in the food and atmosphere at our eatery. I'm a mosaic artist and manage the front of the restaurant. We'll have my art and local artists up on the walls, in addition to live music in the backyard and inside.  We're both also musicians and look forward to meeting you, serving you, playing for you.

The Village is a lovely community.  The support of our neighbors and fellow artists has been amazing.  We're very grateful for all the gifts Bradenton has shown us.

I'll be updating this blog with our progress.
