Bradenton Home Invasion Shooting Victim Identified

A victim and one of the suspects was shot during the Wednesday night robbery. The suspect died from his injuries.

BRADENTON, FL — The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a home invasion robbery that turned deadly Wednesday night.

According to the agency, a 911 call came in around 10:29 p.m. from 704 64th Ave. E. When deputies arrived, they found two people in the driveway suffering from gunshot wounds. One of those shot was a victim from the address, an email from the sheriff’s office said. The other was one of the suspects.

“Initial information indicates that three victims were in the residence when four to five suspects entered the residence brandishing firearms and demanding money,” the email said. “An argument ensued and gunshots were exchanged.”

The suspects, except for the one shot, fled, deputies said.

The victim who was shot was taken to a local hospital in serious condition. Deputies say the suspect who was shot has died. The sheriff's office has classified the crime as a home invasion robbery.

The suspect who died has been identified as Emanuel Johnson, 27. The victim, identified as Allen Perkins, 38, remained hospitalized Thursday with injuries that are described as not life threatening, according to sheriff's office spokesman Dave Bristow.

No further information is being released at this time.
