Bradenton Names New Police Chief

BRADENTON, FL — The Bradenton Police Department has a new chief at its helm.

The city announced its decision to appoint former St. Petersburg Assistant Chief Melanie Bevan to the post Tuesday. Bevan, 49, replaces Michael Radzilowski, who announced his retirement in April. Bevan was one of the top finalists for St. Petersburg Police Chief in 2014. The post, however, was ultimately awarded to former Clearwater Chief Anthony Holloway.

“Bradenton Police Department is proud to announce our new Police Chief is Chief Melanie Bevan,” the agency wrote on its Facebook page. “We would like to welcome her to our police family and our wonderful city.”
