1 Dead in Bradenton Shooting

A man was killed along Eighth Street East Tuesday afternoon.

BRADENTON, FL — The Bradenton Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday afternoon.

The incident was reported around 12:50 p.m. in the 1000 block of 8th Street East, according to the Bradenton Police Department. That agency received a call about shots being fired in that area. When police arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds sitting in a vehicle that was stopped in the road, an email from the agency to media stated.

“EMS attempted to provide medical attention on scene, however, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced as deceased,” the email said.

The victim has since been identified as Karl John Tuxford, 38, of Bradenton.

A witness reported seeing a dark-colored SUV leave the area at a high rate of speed.

There are no known suspects at this time and further information is not yet available.
