On Saturday, September 17th, the Bulldogs played the Valrico Rams at Valrico Park in a Divisional Matchup.
The Tiny Mites scored seven times led by Coby Thomas with a three touchdown effort. The defense also played great led by DJ Wortham and Emilio McDermid. Rex Schwartz and Emilio McDermid also had touchdowns.
The Mitey Mite Bulldogs traveled to Valrico Saturday for a tough conference game. After allowing an opening drive touchdown to the home team, QB Lucas Despot quickly brought the Bulldogs back with a 45 yard TD pass to WR Izzy McNair. Trey Schwartz took an outside sweep 35 yards for a second score in the second quarter, and Despot ran in another in the third to cap the scoring.
The Bulldogs defense was once again stout, allowing only 12 points. The Bulldogs were led by lineman Trent Mullet, who disrupted the Rams backfield all day. A solid efforts by linebackers Sean Crowley and Phoenix Balot and safety Trey Schwartz were key to the victory.
The final was East Manatee 20, Valrico 12. The Bulldogs look to ride the momentum into Dade City next week to take on the Wildcats, looking to avenge a 34-6 loss last year.
