Cedar Hammock Apartment Building Fire Causes $50,000 In Damages

A fire Thursday, March 22, at an apartment building in Cedar Hammock resulted in more than $50,000 in structural damage.

BRADENTON, FL -- A fire Thursday, March 22, at an apartment building in Cedar Hammock resulted in more than $50,000 in structural damage.

Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue was called to the residential building at 120 Pinehurst Drive W around 3 p.m. and found smoke coming from the front and rear entrance of the building.

When firefighters investigated, they found a small couch in one of the apartment’s living rooms on fire.

Four fire engines and one ladder truck brought the fire under control within 10 minutes with assistance from West Manatee Fire Rescue.

The fire was ruled accidental. However, the building with an estimated valued of $1 million has $50.000 in damages. In addition, there was about $5,000 worth of damage to items inside the building.

There were no injuries. One woman received assistance from the Red Cross.
