Cops on the Hunt for Credit Card Thieves

The two men are accused of swiping a man's wallet from a vehicle parked in downtown Bradenton.

The Bradenton Police Department is on the hunt for two men it says may be responsible for an auto burglary and credit card theft.

According to the agency, the crime in question occurred New Year’s Day when a man’s wallet was taken from his vehicle parked in downtown Bradenton. A short time later, two men attempted to use the victim’s credit card at Market on Main Street, 312 12th St. W.

The first suspect made three small purchases with the card. The second suspect, police say, turned around and tried to make a larger charge, but it didn’t go through.

Police released surveillance photos from the store on Thursday and are asking for residents’ help in identifying the suspects.

Anyone who can identify the men in the photos is asked to call Det. Adrian Meridan at 941-932-9326. Anonymous tips that may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 can be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 1-866-634-8477 (TIPS) or by sending an anonymous E-Tip thru the web at www.manateecrimestoppers.com.
