Cops Roll Out Rides With Whole New Look

The new markings on Bradenton school resource officer cruisers were designed by two students.

BRADENTON, FL – Police officers who opt to work with the kids all day long have a pretty cool gig that demands an equally cool looking ride.

At least that was the thought behind a recent effort undertaken by the Bradenton Police Department. That agency asked students at Manatee High School to create new markings for school resource officers’ old patrol cars. The results were unveiled Monday.

School resource officers within the city limits are now rolling onto campuses with vehicle designs created by senior Rachel Hodge and sophomore Cathryn Hierak. The budding artists each received a $100 cash prize for their winning drawings in the contest that was kicked off back in August. Chief Michael Radzilowski offered the prizes personally “for a job well done.”
