Courtyard Carols Are Friday

Local groups will sing for a fundraiser for the United Way of Manatee County.

Carols in the Courtyard, sponsored by Manatee County government, will be held Friday to benefit the Untied Way.

The event is from noon to 4 p.m. in the courtyard of the Historic Courthouse, at 1115 Manatee Ave. West. Several local groups will perform. Here is the schedule:

·        A Victorian Christmas at the Crosley at 12:15 p.m.
·        St. Stephens Episcopal School Choir at 1 p.m.        
·        Salvation Army Band Quartet at 1:45 p.m.                                      
·        Children's Academy of Southwest Florida at 2:25 p.m.
·        Manatee School for the Arts at 2:45 p.m.                    
·        Gulf Coast Sandpiper Barbershop Chorus at 3:30 p.m.


There will be hamburgers and hot dogs and popcorn for sale, as well as holiday crafts. Manatee County Animal Services will bring several animals available for adoption. There will also be a basket raffle. Each year Manatee County employees donate more than $100,000 to United Way of Manatee County.
