COVID-19 Testing No Longer Available At Palmetto Bus Station

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — COVID-19 testing is no longer available at the Palmetto Bus Station at 1802 Eighth Ave. W. in Palmetto, according to the Manatee County website.

Those in need of a coronavirus test can still get one at the recently reopened site at the Bradenton Area Convention Center at 1 Haben Blvd.

The free walk-up testing site will operate in the convention center's southwest parking lot 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

No appointment is required to get tested. Those getting tested are asked to bring proof of Florida residency, such as a state driver's license or utility bill with a Florida address.

The COVID-19 vaccine is still being given at the Palmetto Bus Station.

The site offers first and second doses of the Moderna and Pfizer vaccine, as well as third doses to those who qualify, the county said.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends an additional dose of the vaccine for people whose immune systems are compromised.

Vaccines are available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., by appointment only. Call 941-242-6646 to book an appointment.
