Decomposed Body Found In Miguel Bay: Manatee County Sheriff’s Office

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — A “badly decomposed” body was found in Miguel Bay Sunday morning, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office news release.

The body was first spotted by a boater on Saturday in shallow water near Rattlesnake Key. It was carried away by the current before deputies could recover it.

After a search, the MCSO Aviation Unit and marine deputies found the body on the shore of Rattlesnake Key Sunday morning, the sheriff’s office said.

There is no identifying information with the body and detectives don’t know how long it had been in the water or where it came from.

The Medical Examiner’s Office is performing an autopsy on the remains to confirm the gender and cause of death.
