They were married by Bradenton police Chief Melanie Bevan, who became a notary specifically to officiate Gow’s and Moyett’s wedding, according to WWSB. About a year ago, she asked the couple when they planned to get married.

“And they said, ‘When you decide to marry us, Chief,’” she said at the wedding. “I wasn’t a notary, and I took the challenge to heart and I went out and became one and here we are today.”
