Downtown Bradenton Restaurant Closing After 10 Years

BRADENTON, FL — A popular Bradenton restaurant is closing its downtown location later this month after 10 years in business at this site.

Sage Biscuit Café will shut its doors for good at 1401 Manatee Ave. W. on Sept. 27, the owners wrote in a social media post.

The restaurant’s 10-year lease for the location expired and the building’s current owner decided he no longer wants a restaurant operating in the space, Sage Biscuit Café’s owners said.

The company’s sister location at 6656 Cortez Road W. will remain open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. This location offers the same menu, and some downtown staff members will move there.

The restaurant also encouraged customers to visit its sister concept, The Spotted Rabbit Gastropub, at 1830 59th St. W., near Blake Hospital.

The Spotted Rabbit currently serves lunch and dinner, with breakfast scheduled to launch on Oct. 5 at 8 p.m.

The owners shared gratitude for its downtown Bradenton customers over the past decade.

“We would like to extend our warmest thanks to all our amazing customers who have become like family to us over these last 10 years,” the owners wrote in the post. “We look forward to serving you in the future at one of our other establishments here in Bradenton!”
