Bulldogs have solid Opening Day in 2016 conference play
The Bulldogs Tiny Mite team played the Antioch Redskins in a scrimmage match on Saturday, September 10. Each time that the Tiny Mite team touched the ball they made it into the end zone. Five offensive series led to five TDs each by a different Bulldog Tiny Mite player.
The Mitey Mite Bulldogs handed the Antioch Redskins a 34-0 setback on Saturday. QB Lucas Despot had a 100 yard rushing day. He had two first quarter TD runs and added a third TD plus two 2 point conversions in the third quarter. The Redskins defense notched two interceptions deep on their own territory however the Bulldogs pulled away with touchdowns by TE Phoenix Balot and RB Izzy McNair. The Bulldog D-line was a constant presence in the Redskins backfield recovering three fumbles and an interception by LB Clayton Yoder. Next weekend the Bulldogs are on the road at Valrico. They look to avenge a 2015 one point loss.
The Pee Wee Bulldogs opened their 2016 conference play defeating the Wesley Chapel Cowboys 20-0. It was a total team effort. The Bulldogs had touchdowns from Dion Black, Kevin Everhart, and Bryson Robertson. Along with spectacular catches by Jack McKinnon and others, Tyler Mudge anchored the line of scrimmage on offense and Dion Black was relentless on the D-line. Head Coach Chris Everhart leads the Bulldog’s into a big game week against perennial rival, the Valrico Rams.
The East Manatee Bulldogs Jr Varsity team fell to the Valrico Rams 7-0 in a Divisional Match up on Saturday. The Jr Varsity fought hard until the very end. They get a shot at redemption next Saturday when we travel to Valrico for another Divisional Game against the Rams.
