It's been awhile since you've heard from me. I'm Donna at Arts & Eats Restaurant and Gallery in the heart of the Village of the Arts. We've been in business more than a year and a half now. It seems like we just remodeled and opened the business yesterday. We love what we're doing -- sharing the food, music, and passion for great service with visitors and locals...and appreciate all the praise we've received.
I've learned that your employees -- the team you build -- are akin to family. They depend on you and your business to pay their bills and support their families. By building our business, we're not only increasing sales, but are providing for our work family. It's a huge responsibility and it drives us to succeed.
We spend more time at work than we do at home (especially true when you own a restaurant!), so become close with our employees. We care about their families and well being. We care about where they live and where their kids go to school. We want to nurture them to learn and grow through their work. We're rewarded with loyalty and a staff that is driven to help us succeed.
If you have a small business, you know what a responsibility it is to have people count on you for their livelihood. We consider it a service to the community. With a high rate of unemployment, folks in our area need jobs. We're privileged to provide more people with work as we build the business.
So support small businesses, especially in the off-season. You're not just getting the best the community can offer, but providing support for families that work for them.
