The Bayshore High School baseball team is conducting a donation led fundraiser at its upcoming game against St. Petersburg's Boca Ciega.
The fundraiser is to help a fellow student, senior Anthony Ramirez, raise funds to self-publish his recent written book of poetry. Ramirez, a senior, also has cerebral palsy and is enthusiastically supported by the team in this endeavor.
Teacher and baseball coach Ron Hirst II first posed the idea to the team. Instead of selling tickets to the game, the baseball team will ask for donations to help Ramirez raise funds to be used in publishing his poems.

At the game Ramirez is expected to reveal the title of his book and a sample of his poems will be read.
In addition, the Bayshore baseball team will also host a car wash on Saturday, March 3, 2012, from noon to 3 p.m. in front of Bayshore High to raise additional funds for the book. For more information, please contact Bayshore High School Reading Teacher and Head Baseball Coach Ron Hirst II.
