This experience allows Deimer the opportunity to experience school in America. It is, he said, drastically different when compared to German schools.

“The school in America is much bigger and the teachers spend a lot more time connecting with their students,” said Deimer.

Coming from Gelsenkirchen, Germany, Deimer is pleasantly surprised with all of the new experiences he has had so far.

In the short time that he been in Florida, Deimer have gone to Disney World, Anna Maria Island, and surfed on the beach.

“I have had so much fun,” said Deimer. “I want to see everything I can before I have to go home.”

Though he has had a blast seeing the many tourist attractions Florida has to offer, Deimer also enjoys the little things LRHS has to offer, such as football games.

“In Germany, we don’t have school sports, especially American football,” said Deimer. “Being able to watch the football team play was so new and exciting.”

Throughout the rest of his time left in America, Deimer hopes to do as much as he can learning from everything he gets to see and experience at LRHS.

“I love it here, I get to meet so many great people and experience a whole new culture other than my own,” said Deimer.
