Funeral Planned For Deputy Who Died From COVID-19: Sheriff
Manatee County Sheriff's Office Deputy Douglas Clark will be remembered at a celebration of life service Thursday in Riverview.

RIVERVIEW, FL — Funeral arrangements have been made for a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office corrections deputy who died from COVID-19 Wednesday.
Deputy Douglas Clark will be remembered at a celebration of life service Thursday at Simmons Loop Baptist Church, 6610 Simmons Loop, in Riverview, MCSO said in a news release.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. followed by a Line of Duty ceremony at 11 a.m.

Clark died from coronavirus after being hospitalized for nearly two weeks. He was 67.
He joined the sheriff’s office in February 2008 and has served in the agency’s corrections bureau for 13 years. Clark most recently oversaw inmate work projects in Manatee County Jail’s Road Gang Unit.

MCSO said he was known for his positive attitude and being a hard worker.
