Girl Playing In Parking Lot Hit, Killed By SUV: FL Highway Patrol
The 5-year-old was in the parking lot of a Bradenton mobile home park when she was hit by an unlicensed driver, who was arrested, FHP said.
BRADENTON, FL — A 5-year-old girl was hit and killed by an SUV while playing in the parking lot of a Bradenton mobile home park Friday afternoon, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
The driver, Adrian Castillo, 45, of Bradenton was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended involving death. He was booked into the Manatee County Jail.
The girl was playing in a parking space with her siblings at Sunset Village, 3715 14th Street W., north of the laundromat, when Castillo turned into the space, hitting her, around 5:20 p.m., FHP said. The child was critically injured in the crash.

Her mother, who was inside the laundromat at the time of the crash, drove her daughter to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation.
