Grapevine Communications Earns "Greater Good Philanthropy" Award

Grapevine Communications was recently named the overall winner in the Small Business category of Biz(941)'s Greater Good Awards 2015.

Grapevine Communications, the area’s leading full-service advertising, marketing and public relations agency, was recently named the overall winner in the Small Business category of Biz(941)’s Greater Good Awards 2015. “At Grapevine, we operate under the belief that if we can do something to help, we should do it,” said Grapevine Founder and President Angela Massaro-Fain. “It’s a part of our commitment to being in such a great community.”

With more than 250 nominees in its inaugural year of the Greater Goods awards program, Biz(941) judges reviewed each nominee’s comprehensive body of work, including volunteer hours, donations, community contributions and more. Overall winners came from a variety of companies and industries and represented 11 different business categories: Financial, Legal, Building, Real Estate, Insurance, Health Care, Retail, Hospitality, Small Business, Medium Business and Large Business.

Grapevine’s involvement with non-profits is diverse, ranging from causes for children and cancer-related organizations to sponsorships and pro-bono services that assist non-profits in reaching their fundraising goals. Each year since its inception in 2002, Grapevine has donated more than $150,000 in pro-bono advertising, marketing and public relations services – amounting to more than $1.7 million for over 70 local non-profits to date.

To help these worthwhile organizations and causes succeed, the firm crafts capital campaign materials, develops marketing strategies, designs and places ads, and produces radio and television public service announcements (PSAs) to gain exposure and awareness. Grapevine also creates fundraising event invitations and program books, and provides full coordination support for events of any size. For the 2014 Modern Pentathlon, Grapevine donated more than 700 hours over six months at a value of $95,000.

This year, the company formally supports eight groups, but Massaro-Fain admits she can’t resist creating the occasional ad for a nonprofit supported by a client (or founding a giving circle, the Sisterhood for Good, or the Massaro Kozak Art Scholarship Fund at the Out-of-Door Academy).
