IMG to Host 3 Years of United Soccer Leagues' Finals
Nearly 200 teams and 20,000 attendees will visit Manatee County during the North American Finals.
What could fill up 7,000 Bradenton and Sarasota hotel rooms? Lots and lots of soccer moms and dads.
The United Soccer Leagues announced Thursday that it has selected in Bradenton to host its Super-20 and Super-Y League North American Finals for the next three years.
Thirty division-winning Super-20 will compete in matches this July, while 150 Super-Y teams (considered the premier amateur league for 12- to 17-year-olds) will battle it out in December. Organizers expect that 15,000 visitors will fill those 7,000 hotel rooms in the December finals alone.

“We look forward to working with the USL, the largest and most respected organization of amateur soccer leagues in North America, to host these and many more events in the future," said Scott Dean, director of IMG’s soccer program. "We are also looking forward to attracting thousands of talented players, coaches and families from across the country to our local community.”
USL President Tim Holt said that IMG Academies was selected because it is an "experienced and internationally respected sports organization."

The Super-20 takes place this July 19-22, 2012, and the Super-Y is planned for Dec. 7-11, 2012.
This isn't the first time the two organizations have worked together. Earlier this year, IMG hosted camps for boys and girls during the USL's Super-Y League Olympic Development Program and the USL PRO Combine.
