JFCS to Honor Four Veterans at May 29th Tribute to Veterans Awards Luncheon

Help us honor and recognize four veterans at their Tribute to Veterans Service to Community Awards Luncheon on Friday, May 29, 2015.

JFCS will honor and recognize four veterans at their Tribute to Veterans Service to Community Awards Luncheon on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Michael’s on East. Award Recipients include Georgie Alfano-Cronk, SP4, US Army; Linda L. Gould, COL, US Army (Retired); Daniel Kunkel, 1st Lt. Infantry, US Army; and Ted Smith, Cpl. E-4, US Marine Corps. Tickets for the event are now on sale through May 16, 2015.

The awardees were selected from the community for their ability to inspire patriotism, provide service to others and offer hope to veterans while demonstrating collaboration, leadership, and integrity. Each awardee is dedicated to working in the non-profit sector representing organizations such as The Patterson Foundation, Professionals Assisting Military Families & Friends, Sarasota County Veterans Commission, and Sarasota Patriotic Observance Committee.

The luncheon will also benefit programs and services provided to local veterans by JFCS through its Operation Military Assistance Program (OMAP). OMAP offers case management and financial assistance to very low-income veterans and their families who are homeless or about to become homeless. Each attendee is also asked to consider bringing a donated item to help veterans, such as canned food and personal hygiene items.
