BRADENTON, FL — A police K9 officer is recovering after being bitten by a venomous snake while training in Tallahassee, the Bradenton Police Department wrote in a Facebook post.
Liberty, a bloodhound with the search-and-rescue team, was bitten on her paw by a cottonmouth or water moccasin, the department said.
The K9 is vaccinated against rattlesnake bites, but the vaccine doesn’t protect against cottonmouths.
