Lakewood Ranch blood drive saves lives
Lakewood Ranch High continues its award-winning blood drive program.

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS just completed another successful blood drive with about 90 students donating. The next and last blood drive will be on April 28.
Students can not only get community service for each pint of blood donated , but are eligible for a Legacy Scholarship. Students who have repeatedly donated or have helped volunteer for the Blood Drive can apply for the scholarship.

“The scholarship can help go to paying for textbooks, living expenses, and tuition fro any college”, said LRHS science teacher and blood drive coordinator Maria Whalen.
Only two Legacy Scholarships are being given out from the Buckle Up for B-swag and Bubba Association (BUBBA) in memory of Brett Wagner and Josh Rodgers, two Mustang seniors killed in a 2011 car accident.
