Lakewood Ranch earns top state marks

Lakewood Ranch High School was ranked an "A" school by state officials

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Bradenton's Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) earned an ‘A’ school grade from the Florida Department of Education for the 2021-2022 academic school year.

The Florida Department of Education released individual school ratings for Manatee County for the academic year on July 7.

LRHS Principal Dustin Dahlquist said, “This is great, wonderful, and magnificent news for our school community.”

LRHS was the only high school in Manatee County to earn this rating.

“Our school earned this ‘A’ as it is a testament to and confirmation of the hard work, dedication, and persistence of our students, faculty, staff, and families,” continued Dahlquist.

Meanwhile, Manatee District Schools earned their highest overall ranking yet, 25th among 67 school districts in Florida.

Superintendent Cynthia Saunders said, “We have been through unprecedented times together in the last several years, so to receive evidence of our academic improvement in spite of the obstacles is a victory for all of us.”
