Local students save lives through blood donations

Lakewood Ranch Mustangs donated for the last time this school year

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - The Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) Blood Drive Committee hosted its final donation drive of the school year on Thursday, April 17.

Seventy-two donors showed up to the drive. Each donator received a $10 gift card and a Chick-Fil-A sandwich for recovery after donating. Each unit of blood is distributed to local hospitals and clinics.

Many students have contributed throughout all four years of high school by donating and volunteering.

Senior Max Goesch said, “It’s an easy way to make a difference for the better while at school with my friends.”

LRHS Blood Drive Committee President Nadia Gandhi, senior, is reminiscing on her time and contribution with the committee.

“The Blood Drive Committee has made an incredible transformation since I began freshman year. We’ve improved club membership and donor donation rates, both of which have made a tangible impact in our local community,” Gandhi said.
