Manatee County deputies say it's unclear if a sexual act occurred.

A 24-year-old man faces criminal charges after Manatee County Sheriff’s deputies say he traveled to a 12-year-old girl’s home for sex.
Carlos Ramirez was brought into custody around 2 a.m. Thursday after the girl’s grandmother called 911. The grandmother found him in her home on 9th Street East after Ramirez had been there for an hour, deputies wrote in a media release.
While the grandmother called 911, other family members detained Ramirez, the release noted, adding that he sustained minor injuries while waiting for deputies to arrive.
