Man Accused Of Selling Fake Cruise Packages Captured in Indiana

Dale Lucas, 25, is expected to be brought back to Manatee County, Florida, following an arrest in Indiana on unrelated charges.

A 25-year-old Bradenton man suspected of selling fake cruise packages in Bradenton was captured Thursday in Washington, Indiana, for unrelated charges.

Dale Lucas was stopped at the small Indiana town, about halfway between Evansville and Bloomington, Thursday for a traffic stop by police there on an Indiana arrest warrant for forgery charges, according to Bradenton Police.

Lucas is expected to be extradited to Manatee County for the seven felony counts of engaging in a scheme to defraud or obtain property less than $20,000, according to police.

Lucas and another man, of "a well known Internet site" and claiming they are authorized to sell cruise packages or travel related services, according to police. Kelly was arrested and charged on Monday.

Lucas and Kelley have been targeting locations along Manatee Avenue and Cortez Road in Bradenton, police spokesperson Capt. Warren T. Merriman said in a media release.

The two men come in dressed as collared shirts and khaki pants or shorts, presenting travel packages and laminated marketing materials, Merriman said. They allegedly collected payment for the travel package and then flee the scene.
