Man Charged In Fatal Shooting Outside Bradenton Bar: Police

The suspect in an Oct. 29 fatal shooting outside a Bradenton bar was charged with second-degree murder, police said.

BRADENTON, FL — A suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with an Oct. 29 fatal shooting outside La Barkania Bar and Restaurant, according to a news release from the Bradenton Police Department.

Mario R. Alba-Reyes, 26, was charged with second-degree murder with a firearm, the agency said.

The victim of the shooting, Domingo D. Mendez, died the evening of Oct. 31 from his injuries, police said.

The 41-year-old was shot on Oct. 29 around 11:30 p.m. after leaving the bar at 2209 9th Street W.

That night, he was brought to a local hospital as a trauma alert with grave injuries and wasn’t expected to survive, police said.
