Man Confesses In Woman's Hotel Death: Manatee County Sheriff

BRADENTON, FL — A man confessed to killing a 26-year-old woman who was found dead at a Bradenton hotel Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

Deputies were called to the America’s Best Value Inn at 607 57th Circle E. just after 1 p.m., according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office news release.

They found the woman’s body wrapped in a bed sheet, MCSO said. She suffered trauma to multiple parts of her body.

Steven Cozens, 34, was identified as a person of interest in her death. When investigators found him, he confessed to killing her, the sheriff’s office said.

He was charged with second-degree murder.
