Man Hit By Car, Injured While Crossing 301 Blvd.: FL Highway Patrol

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — An unidentified man was critically injured after being hit by a car while crossing 301 Boulevard East in Manatee County the evening of Feb. 16, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The man was walking on the north paved shoulder of the road, approaching 5th Street E,, around 9:40 p.m.

At the same time, the car, driven by a 62-year-old Bradenton woman, was approaching the same intersection.

The pedestrian tried to cross the road’s travel lanes, entering into the path of the car, which hit the man, FHP said.

The man was brought to an area hospital with critical injuries, the agency said. The crash remains under investigation.
