Man Scores $1 Million Birthday Gift
He won a Florida Lottery jackpot prize one day before his 56th birthday.

Walt Disney World is known as a magical place, but who knew simply heading there could produce amazing results?
A Melbourne man recently discovered that was the case when he made a pit stop at a 7-Eleven on his way to the Magic Kingdom. While it’s unclear if he stocked up on snacks for the road trip, what is clear is that he’s now one of the Florida Lottery’s latest winners in the 50X the Cash scratch-off game.
When Richard Nicolosi scratched off that ticket, he found himself the winner of a $1 million top prize in the game. The ticket purchase came one day before the Florida man’s 56th birthday, lottery officials reported in a media release Monday.

Nicolosi isn’t the only recent winner to land a big prize in time for a birthday. Johnathan Fong of Miami also managed to pick the winning numbers in the May 30 Fantasy 5 drawing, earning him at prize that added up to more than $262,000. The numbers were drawn on his 25th birthday, the lottery reported.
The lottery noted a “trend of birthday luck” on its Facebook page, encouraging residents 18 and older to “play the Florida Lottery before your birthday and you could be the next lucky winner!”
