Manatee County To Begin Flushing Anna Maria Island Water Lines

Manatee County utility crews will begin flushing water lines on Anna Maria Island next week during the overnight hours.

ANNA MARIA ISLAND, FL -- Manatee County utility crews will begin flushing water lines on Anna Maria Island next week during the overnight hours and periodically as needed over the next few months.

Flushing is often needed at this time of year to decrease the water age and to bring the chlorine residuals back to standard levels.

There are no precautionary boil water notices so residents need not worry about the safety of the drinking water, Utility Department officials said.

"We are making everyone aware of the flushing so that residents are aware of the reasons for the water they see," said Amy Pilson, Manatee Utilities public affairs liaison.
