Manatee County Man Wins $1M From Publix Lottery Ticket
A 55-year-old Palmetto man won the top prize in the Florida Lottery's Gold Rush Doubler scratch-off game, officials said.
PALMETTO, FL — A Manatee County man's wallet got a little fatter recently after he purchased a winning lottery ticket at a Palmetto Publix.
Robert Gregory, 55, of Palmetto, won the top prize in the Florida Lottery's Gold Rush Doubler scratch-off game. According to lottery officials, Gregory purchased the ticket at the grocery store located at 9520 Buffalo Rd.
Gregory claimed his prize at the Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee. He opted to receive his winnings in one lump-sum payment of $685,000.

Publix will receive a $2,000 commission for selling the winning ticket, lottery officials said.
The Gold Rush Doubler scratch-off game offers more than $188 million in cash prizes, including 28 top prizes of $1 million. The game's overall odds of winning are just under 1 in 4.
