Manatee Rescinds Teitelbaum’s Job, Schools Place Him On Leave: Report
Manatee County commissioners decided not to investigate a sexual harassment complaint against Mitchell Teitelbaum, reports said.

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — After an employee filed a sexual harassment complaint against Manatee County’s newly hired deputy administrator last month, Mitchell Teitelbaum, the county officially rescinded his job offer.
Teitelbaum was unanimously approved by the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners as the new deputy county administrator, working under County Administrator Scott Hopes, in December.
After the allegation was made against Teitelbaum, he delayed his acceptance of the position.

At their Tuesday meeting, commissioners voted 6-1 to rescind the confirmation of Teitelbaum’s appointment, Observer Media Group reported.
Commissioners also decided at the same meeting not to pursue an investigation into the complaint against Teitelbaum, since he wasn’t actually a county employee, according to The Bradenton Times.

Teitelbaum, who previously served as in-house legal counsel for the School District of Manatee County, asked the district to table his resignation following the complaint filed against him, the Times reported.
He was placed on administrative leave on Thursday, “the day we returned to work after the winter holiday break,” Michael Barber, director of communications, family and community engagement for the district, told Patch. “He remains on leave at this time.”
Barber declined to answer whether the leave was a response to the allegation against Teitelbaum.
“All we can say at this point is that he on paid administrative leave,” Barber said.
