BRADENTON, FL —The Manatee County School Board will consider a temporary mask mandate for students on Monday, with the ability to opt out.
An emergency school board meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 16 at 9 a.m. according to the Manatee County Schools website.
The board will also consider a temporary mandate for all staff and visitors to campus.

On Thursday, Manatee Schools re-introduced many of the same COVID-19 procedures as last year.
The school district reported more than 100 cases of COVID-19 in the first three days of classes, according to the Bradenton Herald.
