March into Easter the TableSeide Way

Easter Brunch buffets; Louies Modern's Sunday Supper and Chef's Dinner and new Storytellers wine series; Oak & Stone St. Pete job fairs

Louies Live First Friday Night: Disco Fever Costume and Dance Contest

8 to 11 p.m.

This first Friday event offers a different theme every month, and March is Disco Fever Costume and Dance Contest. The winner of each contest gets his or her drink tab covered for the remainder of the night for themself and one friend. Contests begin at 9:00 p.m. DJ Joey D Sarasota will spin tunes by Gloria Gaynor, Chic, the Bee Gees, Cher, KC and the Sunshine Band and other disco hit makers. Happy Hour drink specials are available all night as well as Ketel One promotions.

Come for one or come for all! Three fun dining and imbibing events and reasons to come to Louies Modern on Sunday(s), including no corkage fee for customers who want to bring in their own bottle of wine. This Sunday is extra special as Louies is partnering with Ringling College for the National Ocean Spray Advertising Competition and featuring cranberries on both drink and dining menus.

Jazz Brunch

11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

One part jazz trio including Michael Witty (vocals/piano), John Lamb (former bassist for Duke Ellington Orchestra) and guest drummer; two parts Louies’ award-winning brunch with omelet, seafood, salad, fresh fruit and Bloody Mary stations including $5 Frosés by the glass and $5 bottomless Bloody Marys and Mimosas; and three parts fun, friends and family.

Sunday Afternoon Social

2 to 5 p.m.

@ Louies Modern bar and patio breezeway, sponsored by Ringling College. Perfect for someone or some-ones looking for something fun to do on a Sunday afternoon or somewhere to go after brunch and still be ready for work on Monday morning. Special offerings this month include White Cosmopolitans, Cranberry Basil Mules, Cranberry-Chili Sauced Wings, Cranberry Farro Amandine Salad and Cranberry Sorbet. Live DJ for dancing away the afternoon.

@ Louies Modern’s dining room. Ideally suited for families or groups of friends looking for something out of the ordinary to end the weekend (or start the week). In addition to the regular à la carte menu, diners can also enjoy a special four-course supper with a different inspiration each month, with the added bonus of having the corkage fee waived if they want to bring in their own bottle of wine. Menu includes:

The exclusive Sunday Supper: Chef’s Dinner is offered to a group of 12 people at 6:30 p.m. for an interactive experience with Chef Jose. Guests are seated at the dining room bar where they can watch Chef Jose prepare and serve their food to them, offering a personalized touch to their dining experience.

Storytellers: Wine | $25/person

6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Louies launches its new Storytellers series to highlight specific spirits or food items for guests to learn more about them and have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the purveyors. This month's series focuses on wine with five distributors showcasing their favorite two wines to each table for a total of ten tastings. Dinner service for guests attending this event is additional and encouraged for more insights into great food and wine pairings.

Miracle League Season Kick-off & After Party

7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Join Oak & Stone at the Longwood Run field to kick off the Miracle League’s season where attendees can buddy up for bases at the home opener at 6050 Longwood Run Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34243. Head to Oak & Stone afterward for a post-game celebration where kids get free pizza when a parent or adult purchases an entrée or personal pizza (available until 5 p.m.).

Paddy-O Party Day & Night

St. Patty’s Day kicks off with “batter-up” pitching machine fundraising until 4:00 p.m. Revelers can also participate in the Cornhole Tournament (bean bag toss) starting at 3 p.m. with winners receiving an Oak & Stone gift card. There will also be live music and more game fun for all ages.

Indian Street Food Experience | $40/person

From Mumbai to New Delhi, cities throughout India boast an eclectic and delicious array of street foods. From spicy chaats to filled flatbreads and masala chai, it’s easy to get lost in the unfamiliar words of all the incredible snacking options. The Indian Table will transport guests to the street vendors of India without leaving Louies Modern and will create favorites such as kati rolls, chaat, authentic masala chai and many more popular Indian street foods. There will even be a henna artist on hand.
