Mayor, Police Chief Meet Bradenton Girl After Speeding Complaint
C'rai wrote a letter to Bradenton's mayor to complain about how she and her best friend can't play on the sidewalk because of speeding cars.
BRADENTON, FL — Concerned about cars speeding through her neighborhood, a Bradenton girl reached out to city officials about the problem, writing a letter to Bradenton Mayor Gene Brown.
“Me and (my) best friend can’t play on the sidewalk like normal kids,” C’rai wrote in a letter shared to Facebook by the Bradenton Police Department. “We have to play in the driveway only. People are speeding down the road we can get hit badly. So can you put a sign that say ‘slow down kids in neighborhood.’”
She ended her letter with #IAmAKid.

After reading her letter, which the mayor received March 31, city officials were moved to do something about the problem.
Brown and Bradenton Police Chief Melanie Bevan met with C’rai Thursday to discuss the new “Caution Slow Down” signs being installed on her block and other safety initiatives, police said.

During this meeting, C’rai shared with Brown and Bevan that she dreams of one day being president of the United States.
“We’ll say she’s off to a great start,” Bradenton police said.
