Driver Thrown From Motorcycle Dies In Cortez Road Crash: FHP
A 32-year-old Bradenton driver died after being thrown from his motorcycle, hitting a tree early Monday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
CORTEZ, FL — A 32-year-old Bradenton man died early Monday after being thrown from his motorcycle and hitting a tree in Cortez, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
The motorcyclist was traveling east in the right lane of Cortez Road and approaching 102nd Street West when he drove off the roadway into the grass shoulder just before 1:30 a.m., FHP said.
When this happened, he was thrown from his motorcycle and hit a tree. The motorcycle continued moving east on Cortez Road, coming to a rest in the right lane just east of 103rd Street West, the sheriff’s office said.

The motorcyclist was brought to Blake Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The crash remains under investigation.
