BRADENTON, FL — State troopers are seeking a hit-and-run driver who left a motorcyclist seriously injured after a crash at the intersection of 26th Street West and 38th Avenue West in Bradenton on Monday evening, said the Florida Highway Patrol in a news release. The accident took place about 7:33 p.m.

Just before the crash, the driver of a dark-colored Hyundai Sonata was traveling south on 26th Street West, approaching the traffic signal at the intersection of 38th Avenue West. At the same time, the motorcyclist, a 31-year-old Bradenton man, headed north on 26th Street West toward the same intersection.

When the Hyundai entered the intersection to turn left, the driver “violated the (motorcyclist’s) right-of-way,” causing the collision, FHP said. The motorcycle overturned, landing in the opposite lane. Its driver suffered serious injuries in the crash.
