New Traffic Pattern for 8th Street West
Tourist season is beginning, so that means it's time to tear up the streets.

Starting Wednesday, there will be a new traffic pattern for 8th St. West to the north of State Road 64/Manatee Avenue West, the City of Bradenton announced Monday.
Drivers southbound on 8th St. West will not be allowed to get on Manatee Avenue. Instead they will have to use 4th Avenue West.
People on Manatee Avenue will still be allowed access to 8th St. West. This new pattern is permanent, and part of the improvements to Manatee Avenue by the Florida Department of Transportation.

The work includes removal of old asphalt and repaving, drainage improvements, decorative lighting and the installation of a new water line. The project is expected to be finished in early 2012.
Don't forget, speeding fines are doubled in construction zones.
