Pedestrian Critically Injured In Manatee County Crash: FHP

A 43-year-old Bradenton man walked in front of a 17-year-old driving south on U.S. 41 early Wednesday, Florida Highway Patrol said.

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — A Bradenton man was critically injured early Wednesday while attempting to cross all lanes of U.S. 41 just north of 66th Avenue West early Wednesday, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.

Just before 12:30 a.m., the 43-year-old pedestrian walked into the path of a 17-year-old female driving a sedan south on U.S. 41, FHP said. The front of the Sarasota teen’s vehicle hit the pedestrian in the center lane.

The man was brought to a local hospital in critical condition. The driver was uninjured.
